In 2015, Jeju served as the backdrop for the romance KDrama “Warm and Cozy”. The drama stars “Reply 1994” Yoo Yeon Seok as Baek Gun Woo and “Doctor Strangers” Kang So Ra as Lee Jung Joo.
Despite being a diligent employee, Lee Jung Joo ends up losing everything and in her bid to start a new, finds herself relocating to the picturesque place of Jeju where she meets wealthy-lazy guy Baek Gun Woo.
“Warm and Cozy” restaurant is actually called Bomnal Cafe. It is located right in front of Handam beach.
We went on a Tuesday but the place was still surprisingly packed so I can just imagine how weekends look like for them. Oh and btw, another treat to visiting this place is that it’s a few steps away from Monsant Cafe which is said to be owned by Big Bang’s G-Dragon! I will feature Monsant Cafe in my future post so watch out for that!
Directions Jeju to “Warm and Cozy” Restaurant (Bomnal Cafe):
From Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal, buy tickets for bus 702 headed towards Gosan. Ticket price is 1,200 KRW. Locate bus 702 and be on your way.
Don’t worry there’s a monitor that shows the names of the bus stops in English so no need to panic that you’ll get lost.
Alight at Han Dam Dong bus stop.
From the bus stop, walk towards the CU convenient store and turn right on the first block.
Once you turn right, you’ll see the signage of Couple Guesthouse (on your left) and Pasta Guesthouse (on your right). Just continue straight until the end of the road.
Once you reach the end of the road, the sight of the sea will welcome you.
Take your right and keep walking straight.
The restaurant has a big tea-cup in its front which is hard to miss.
Heading back to Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal:
Just wait at the bus stop across from where you were dropped off earlier.
Bus stops have monitors that will tell you what time the bus is expected to arrive.
